Right now I am probably one of the most disorganized people. I am looking forward to reading suggestions by others to get myself organized. My biggest obstacle is keeping the dining room table cleaned off. Somehow everything that people don't know what to do with ends up there. ;D

Ha! I'd love the secret too! I have piles of "stuff" here and there, and not enough closets to put all that "stuff" into!

Unfortunately my closets are full, and so are the drawers, table tops, and all points in between. I am a table top junkie. lol I need to tackle it, one drawer at a time.

Oh my, I am in the same boat as Carrie and Marie. I have four bins stacked in my bedroom just full of 'stuff' that there is no place to go--I figured the bins looked better than the 'piles' I had, but it still doesn't look good. Some of it is seasonal things, like curtains and there are books. I'm sure looking forward to some good tips!

Twice a year we clean out all closets, cupboards. drawers, etc. When I do that I purge like crazy and if something has not been used since the last cleaning, than it gets donated or tossed. This includes clothing. Was really hard to do at first, but once you get in the routine it is almost cathartic. I also use the space bags for all extra linens and clothes that are seasonal. They take up almost no room, therefore leaving more storage space. I use under the beg containers on wheels also. But the one area I have to keep up with all the time is the fridge, freezer and pantry. I am a food hoarder and really have to get that under control. I have told the family that not another thing is going into the fridge, freezer or pantry until that food is eaten. Of course they whine and say "there is nothing I like in there. Well why did you want me to buy it in the first place? I will let you all know how that project turns out ;D

I had to laugh vintagegirl--my freezer is the same way. I really need to clean it out and re-organize it.
I'm about to make some changes in my living room that might help with the clutter in that room. I'm getting a new desk/hutch for the computer and am going to get rid of a file cabinet that is in there. I'm going to put all my genealogy and other papers into notebooks to go on the hutch shelves and hopefully, get the area organized.

We have very little closet space in this house and it's a challenge trying to figure out where to put stuff. If I figure it out I'll be sure to let you know!

As much as I love dollar stores and flea markets/garage sales, Igive them all some blame for the fact that a lot of people have so much "stuff" nowadays. Me too, of course (and I wish I had suggestions...)

i have to do a purge every now and then. but in between them i utilize my space as much as possible and repurpose as many things as i can a find a use for them. i make hanging shelves from the cieling. and use stackers in the closets. i use one hanger to keep 5 pairs of pants/ jeans. one hanger holds 3 jackets and i hang my tank tops on the hook part of the hanger as well as nightgowns. i am not a neat and orderly person so i take a lot of shorcuts to cleaning up..i keep things in general areas according to how i use them for example i have a work area its where i produce my creations so all things related to that are kept there. i hang my pots and pans on hooks so i can have the drawers to put my countertop "accumilations" out of sight, and keep my chairs on top of the table until i use them when company comes over plus it makes it easier to sweep and mop. i dont organize my utensils in the compartment thing i just toss them in there. and i dont buy more than what i need to use. i also donate to homeless or people who need things..
