Oh Marie that would be darling. How clever! If you decide to give it a try, I will be looking forward to the pictures

That is a really great idea. I'll bet there are stencils you can buy that would help create the cobblestone pattern.

Stencils.....I have not searched for any, but was thinking I could cut a few patterns out of cardboard, and place them down and trace around them and make a pattern that way.

Wow, there's nothing "shabby" about that chateau! Due to the font that the owner used, I thought it said "skabby chateau"! (Note to self: Buy new readers...)
Anyway, that patio looks so beautiful! I have a space for a patio (once upon a time there were pieces of slate there) but I can't afford to do anything with it. I would LOVE to have concrete and then paint that cobbled effect on it.

Love it! I would love to do something like that with our front steps which are currently painted cement. Can't wait to see pictures and read any pointers you have afterwards!

RoseMary, I love that. Thanks for the link. While I technically like the cobblestone better, the painted tile looks seems to be so much easier. Thanks so much for posting the link.

I like the painted tile look also. Either one would be cute. I do have a preference for the cobblestone though. Makes me think of old Europe

The front porch is much smaller than the patio. I could do the cobblestone there. The patio is a big rectangle, and the tile would be really easy to map out. Hmm, the wheels are turning. lol

I am looking forward to pictures of whatever you decide to do. Makes me wish I had a slab of concrete to paint!

The big home improvement stores carry a variety of inexpensive styles and all you need to do is stick them in the ground. Not only are they functional – lighting your way at night – but they provide ornamentation as well.
