This is in response to Allen - I moved this over from the "Welcome" Thread: Allen: <<Chapter Two, our fairy garden is struggling. I'll post a pic on the Garden area if it ever stops raining. We tried but we are not so thrilled with our results yet. I would certainly be open to suggestions!>>
Ugh...sorry that your fairy garden didn't do so well. I barely worked on my real garden this year, so no fairy gardens for me!
(Sorry the newspaper article can no longer be seen so I'll remove the link.)

I'll post a pic of our initial attempt at a fairy garden. We need a redo. Need to involve more plants. A work in progress, I guess. Allen Attachments:

I like the arrangement of the buildings, bridge, and all that. It looks a little bit like one of those French nativity scenes with all the townspeople and their homes. I think it's quite charming. I suppose you could place a few potted plants around the base and see if you like the look with more vegetation. Would moss grow on or around the garden, or is it in too sunny a spot for that?

I think it is wonderful! Really really cute and charming. I agree with Shabby about it looking like a french village

It looks great! I like the way you used the log round for part of the village.
I'd like to find a place to attempt one of these next spring.
