Losing Peter was extremely devastating to our family. Especially hubs as Peter was his little shadow. We got a phone call from a friend who does rescue who had a little Rat Terrier/Jack Russel mix that needed a home. At first we said no, but said we would come and take a look. The second we set eyes on her, both hubs and I said at the same time that we would take her in. I truly feel she was meant to be with our family, and has really helped to heal us. She is a delight. Very very well behaved and fit in with our other dogs perfectly. She is such a little character and has so many of Peter's mannerisms, that we just know that a part of Peter came back in her. Her name is Trixy. Here is a pic of Miss Trixy. Hubs was cleaning the inside of our truck this morning, and she sat down on the roll of papertowels he was using ;D i40.photobucket.com/albums/e236/chunkymama/little%20dogs/trixy_zps270eb978.jpg

She's adorable! She looks pretty darn happy to have come home with you, too.

Good looking dog! Glad you were able to help (and maybe be helped at the same time!).

Awww. . .she's so cute. I know she is so happy to be a part of your little family! Looks like she is a great little helper, too ![:)](//storage.proboards.com/forum/images/smiley/smiley.png) . So glad you have her. It's funny (and I don't mean haha) how sometimes after you lose a pet, you 'accidentally' get another one that is so much like the one you lost. We had a little 2 year old cat (Silver Tabby) that we had to have put down. Just broke our hearts. About six months later, someone dumped another silver tabby on our road. She is so much like our little Georgia that we say she is Georgia come back to us.

Aww, such a sweetie. Congrats on your new family addition, one lucky dog! Losing a pet is so hard, I hope this eases the pain a little.
This story reminds me of our dog Rowdie Boy who was an Amercan Eskimo. We had her when I was a kid/teenager. She got his by a car in front of our house in town. I was devastated. A week later my mom and dad were driving out in the country and came upon a Spitz dog, almost like Rowdie Boy, only smaller. We took her in and she lived with us for many years. My mom always said this was Rowdie Boy's way for living on.
