I think this'll be five pictures...two befores and three afters. This is the retaining wall we built in the neighbor's yard on the other side of my fence. This is the place where my yard slopes down, so we needed something to keep my dirt from running down into theirs. We had a huge rainstorm the other day and nothing happened to the wall or the plants I have only recently put in there, so I'm pretty happy with it. I'm having trouble with attachments so am trying to make them smaller. I hope you'll be able to see them. I'm not able to add a picture to this message since the attachment button seems to be missing! Has anyone else had trouble getting pictures to work? If so, how did you solve the problem?

This is driving me crazy. The directions for adding a picture talk about pressing buttons that aren't even on the screen, and nothing I'm doing is working. I noticed the other day that when I posted pictures of my patio, the attachment didn't show as a picture but as a link, and now neither one of them shows. The pictures are small enough...I compressed them for e-mail, which is even smaller than I usually do, so it's not a file size issue. Ugh. One more try before I give up and start drinking heavily. Okay, it's official. I give up. The wall looks pretty good, though. Too bad you can't see it.

When I try to build a retaining wall, somebody always messes it up. Wish I could post a picture . . . Allen

Well, heck. I see what you mean. I had a funny pic I was going to post "to make light" of your not being able to post. But, although everything looked like it should go, nothing posted.
Guess that's what I get for trying to be a Smart ____ !

Well I'm glad it's not just me. As soon as I get a chance, I'll see if there's someone I can contact about the problem. It might not be till this weekend; school starts this week and the cat is sick, so I'm pretty busy.

Shabby I am not sure why we are having problems posting pictures. I tried also with no luck. I have checked and we do have permissions turned on to post pics, but all of a sudden it is not working. I am wondering if it is a size restriction, but not sure. When I get back from vacation I will try and figure it out

I don't think it's a size issue because I was posting the smallest size you can compress a picture to. However, we can wait for you to return. In the meantime, I might go ahead and post the pics over on the C&B forum in my album so people can navigate over there to see them for now.

Moving those stones was a bunch of back breaking work! Looks good. Hope it solves your water issue!

We've had a couple of huge downpours...very unusual for our part of the country...in the last two weeks, and so far both my patio and the retaining wall below it are holding up, so I'm pretty happy. The rain was so bad it overflowed my gutters, causing a waterfall effect that washed a couple of my newly-planted plants right out of their pots. I did notice some of the sand I'd put down between the pavers had washed out, but I think it'll be fine until next spring, and then I'll put down some more and sweep it into the cracks.

I looked at the pictures--you did a great job with that project, shabby! Sounds as if it had a good 'test', too. I do hope we don't have to resort to posting our pictures over on that site ! I'll be glad when we get the 'kinks' out of this one.

I hope we don't have to do that, too. I suppose I could get a Photobucket account or something. But the problem we have here is nothing compared to what they're doing to "improve" Yahoo Groups. Everyone's in an uproar over the new format for the groups. Yahoo never makes improvements; only changes.

Just testing to see if my photo will post here. It's just the "after" photo. Attachments:
