So what does everyone have planned for 4th of July? Hubs and I are staying home and just catching up on our sleep and relaxing. We have the 4th and 5th off. I will be making bacon wrapped hot dogs, mini corn cobs, macaroni salad and rootbeer floats. Daughter will probably come over for a while. Our dogs are afraid of fireworks, so we will stay inside after dark and keep an eye on them. We used to climb on top of our motorhome and watch the fireworks at our park in town, but I am too old and fat to do that anymore ;D

We didn't do much yesterday. We did have lots of snacks. My daughters dipped strawberries in white chocolate, then stuck the tips of the berries in blue sugar and they made great Fourth of July decorations. Tasty, too! We shot off a few fireworks last night, also. I hope everyone had a great day.

We had a quiet day at home. Especially since we had to nurse Chester. My best friend and a friend from the train came over for chili dogs. Did not barbecue as planned, as it was really really hot outside. So we ate inside and watched tv and chatted. Had chili dogs, macaroni salad, potatoe chips, corn on the cop, brownies and lemon bars. Yummm!!!! Spent the rest of the weekend trenching and running electrical for our new electric gate opener. We will install it this coming weekend. I am thrilled we are getting the gate opener. Our entire property is fenced and our driveway fence is 16 feet wide. Since we live on the horse trail, in the winter months and it rains, we have to get out in mud to open our driveway fence. Our driveway is paved, so exiting is not so much a problem. Electrical is all hooked up and ready to go. Unfortunately I ordered the wrong fence opener , but the new one will be here in the next couple days. It is an early anniversary present (October). Other anniversary presents have been: garbage disposal, hooking up to the sewer, dishwasher, vacuum cleaner, etc etc. Hubs is a very practical man ;D

Oh gees, I love your anniversary presents....especially the "hooking up to sewer one" lol. Sounds like a fun day. We had a party at my sisters at the lake in Indiana. The rich people at the lake put on quite the fireworks display after dark.....estimations are $8000 to $10,000 worth...Ugg, It was comparable to our towns. We have had so much rain lately, and it is raining now.....
RoseMary, your desserts sound yummy, anything dipped in chocolate has to be!
