This has always been one of my favorites -- the song and the flower. For those of you that "ain't from around here," you may know these as peonies. The old folks called them piney roses, or just pineys. Each farm and homestead had these come up in late spring, and they would use them for "Decoration," a tradition of decorating the graves of loved ones. Assuming I can post the link, enjoy! www.youtube.com/watch?v=_9b97fyuE9c Allen Attachments:

So pretty! I don't have any but see them growing around on different places, especially old farmhouse yards. I think the graves would be much prettier with the real flowers, like those. These days, everyone brings silk flower decorations to Decoration Day at each local cemetery.

Very pretty, we have pink and white ones. They have already come and gone. They don't last long here.
