We have been having some fantastic weather lately. Bit hot this past weekend and yesterday (100's), but just gorgeous today. Warm, but with a fantastic breeze. This hot weather is doing wonders for my rose garden. I have been getting at least 2-4 vases of flowers a week, with a lot still left in the garden itself for some curb appeal. Even the chiwi's like the flowers. The other day, Peter, climbed up on a chair and was sniffing the roses. I wish I had my camera with me at the time. It was a cute moment So how is everyone elses garden doing?

My perennials are coming up. Sometimes I don't know if it is weed or flower. I am not too good at this. lol Tonight my neighbor and I went to Mendards ad I bought 6 bags of mulch, 6 pack of solar lights, and a couple flowers. I am planning on working this weekend if the weather holds out. Today in the low 80's rest of week hopefully in the 70's. I am redoing in front of the porch.
Your roses sound beautiful....I love roses, but have only 1 bush that I don't even remember planting.

Nothing is better than fresh cut flower from your own yard! I love cutting anything I have in bloom from roses to daisies, etc...

Okay, I'm trying my hand at attaching a picture. Does anyone have advice on cutting back roses in the fall? I love my knock-out roses. Sadly, they are getting a bit unwieldy. I love the privacy / hedge they provide though so it scares me to completely chop them down!

Okay, I hit the browse button and attached a picture of my roses to the last post. Is there a photo tutorial around here somewhere. I feel like a moron. Sorry.

We have been having issues with pics. Sometimes it works; sometimes it doesn't. Sounds like you did it right. Just try again later. Be sure to resize your photos to 640, or whatever it is. About the smallest size you can go to. Once its posted, members can click to enlarge.

I don't know if there is a set in stone rule for KnockOut roses for cutting back but what I do is cut down to the top 5 leaf cluster. No idea if that is right or not but seems to be okay. What really works for me is to threaten the rose bush, that seems to get it's attention.

It's almost October and the roses are still blooming here. My sis told me about cutting them back and it worked! Chyna - What ever works is worth a try!
