Allen your pics are pretty much what it looks like here. We're in for more snow next week and I just keep reminding myself that spring will be here next month and it can't get here fast enough for me!

I hope some of you are rid of your snow! We still have it on the ground. I'm sure not as much as Marie does, though. Our last snow was about 4 inches and it has been staying with us, but is starting to melt today. I sure do wish spring would hurry!

I would guess we have about 8 inches on the ground. Today we had ice and rain....such crazy weather. I am ready for it to all go away. At least the near 0 degree temps are gone. Today it was in the 30's.

Mac, I sure hope your snow has melted by now. We have been having rain, so all our ice and snow is gone. Now, we just need some sunshine!

Yea, Our snow is g.o.n.e. gone! Last weekend was beautiful and it went away quickly. We had a few flurries this morning and tomorrow supposed to be in the 50's. It is slowly coming. My daffodils are about 6 inches above ground, I hope they don't bloom and get frosted off, which seems to happen a lot here. Oh SPRING please just get here.

Hi everyone! Remember me? It's quiet around here now that everyone's snow is gone! I've been soooo busy with the two Master's degree classes I was taking. They just ended the other day, and now I have a bit of a break until the next semester starts at the end of June. I won't be taking two classes at once again...it's just too much work. I did nothing but read, write, and work on projects for three and a half months on top of my full time job. I'm cutting back to one course per semester, which means I'll get my degree later than I would have, but this will give me more time to do good work on the class I do take and to start casting around for a topic for my 100-page master's thesis. I enjoyed the classes a lot. I learned so much, and the readings were great. Writing two 300-word essays per week based on the assigned documents was not much fun, and learning to think like a historian instead of like an English major is a challenge. They're two entirely different ways to interact with readings, and it's hard to retrain myself. Now that there's some free time, I can finish installing the laminate flooring upstairs, and that will make my life a little easier (plus give me more room in my garage). I think I'm going to be back in the classroom a couple of hours a day next year on top of my library job, which will be like having two full time jobs in terms of work load, so I want to have all my home improvement tasks done. As soon as the opportunity presents itself, I want to sell the condo so want all of its improvements done. I'm going to have to pull out the tiles in the kitchen and replace them because they are cracking. I'm not sure what the story is with the subfloor, but as time goes by, the subfloor seems to shift, and the tiles crack. Thank goodness I have a high limit on my credit card. Spring has sprung in Washington. In fact, it came early. All my daffodils and tulips were blooming in February! The weather was warm here while you all were having snow in the east and midwest. They say we're in for a hot summer, which is probably fine with me. I'm not going to do anything complicated with plants at home or at school in the school garden this summer. I'm going to focus on my summer class and home improvements. I'll have to put in a fair amount of time getting ready to teach again next year. I'm looking forward to it, though. I've missed being in the classroom, and since I'm studying American History for my master's degree, I might as well be teaching it so I can use all those tools I'm learning about in my classes. Keep in touch! I miss visiting with you all through the list. Eventually I'll share pictures of my new floor. Shabbychick

Hi shabby! It sounds like you've been very busy with a lot on your plate. Best wishes with your teaching next year and with getting your Master's! Spring has finally sprung and flowers are up and trees have blossoms. We have a redbud and it's so pretty this time of year. The maple in front has lots of leaves and it's just so nice to see all the 'green' again! I hope everyone is well and enjoying the springtime!

Hi shabby~I just saw this post. My, you have been busy. I am almost tired from just reading about all of your activities. But it all sounds great:). I hope things are going well with your home renovations and you can show us some pictures soon!
We have had a nice spring. Of course, I'll take almost anything over winter. Or a broiling hot summer, LOL! We have had a lot of rain, and I have to say that my roses have loved it. I think they are prettier this year than they have been in the past. Also, my mint has gone wild with all the water out there. Even my chocolate mint came back, and this is the first year it has returned. I usually have to re-plant every year. I still have to get some petunias in pots to finish up with my flowers for the summer. They are the only annual I'm having this year, except the sunflowers I've planted.
I have lettuce, onions, tomatoes, carrots, potatoes, and peppers planted in our garden. I still have to plant squash and cucumbers. Is anyone else planting a garden?
I've missed visiting with all of you on here, too. Maybe we can get some conversations going soon. I hope everyone is having a wonderful spring!
