Need a quick fix to patch a little hole in a wall (like from a nail hole) and don't have any spackle putty? Use toothpaste- just squeeze a bit into the hole- let dry then paint over.
If your wall is white, and so is your toothpaste- you may be able to skip the painting part. ;D

Great tip Carrie and I especially like the part about skipping the painting! I've put a lot of holes in the wall from hanging things and this tip can really come in handy - thanks!

Thanks Linn- I should have mentioned only use "paste" toothpaste NOT gel. The gel will take forever to dry and won't work at well....

Oh how I love LOVE this tip - - back in my rental days it saved me quite a few security deposits. Good old white Colgate paste works fabulously. I'm not totally sure why I was willing to buy Colgate at the store for this purposes and wasn't willing to run over to Home Depot for a little jar of spackle since I do know how to paint pretty well. Who knows? Great tip - - brings back memories.
