This weekend my parents are celebrating my Father's 60th class reunion at West Point. AND my parents will be married 60 years the first week of June. This photo is of my parents right after they were married in June of 1953--right after Graduation! Attachments:

Thank you everyone for your comments- Every 5 years my Dad has attended his reunion at West Point.
This year is especially very special because May 2nd my Dad will go in the hosptial to remove some cancer in a kidney--he may have to have the kidney taken out.
Anyone who has time to send an extra prayer or two this way would be really appreciated.
AND Marie- You mentioned you just visited West Point- do you know someone there or just visiting- if you don't mind me asking.

That's a great photo and not your typical "going away" picture. Best of luck to your dad on the upcoming surgery.

The family that Ashley was an au pair for 2 years ago in Hamburg, Germany, came to the states on vacation. The dad (from Germany) has a brother that is an instructor at the West Point Academy. We all met at the brothers house for 3 days. So basically we spent 3 days at West Point. I did not know the brother before we went on the trip, but Ashley had met him when she was in Germany.

What a very special year this is for your parents, Carrie - Congratulations to them! In that photo, your mother looks like Donna Reed and your father resembles Tony Dow (from Leave it to Beaver)!
I'm sorry to hear about your Dad's surgery. If it's any consolation, my ex-husband had to have his kidney removed due to cancer as well, back in 1989. Things have been fine with him, ever since. I will keep your Dad in my thoughts and prayers.

Carrie, sorry I did not see the part about your dad's surgery. I will add him to my prayer list. Our pastor has had only one kidney for over forty years and has done fine.

Chapter Two ~ when I first viewed the picture I thought Carrie's mother resembles Donna Reed. I viewed the pic again and I agree that Carrie's dad resembles Tony Dow and also Dick Powell! Great looking couple!
