In the Fall, I spotted this cute rose chintz ceramic tea set at a garage sale. When I asked the man how much it was, he replied, "One dollar". There is no way I could take it for that little money so I gave him $5.00, but even that was a super price. ;D Attachments:

Wow. If you'd found that in an antique shop, it would have been considerably more than five dollars. What a deal! Have you actually made tea in it yet?

Thanks, everyone. Yes, Shabby, I did serve tea in it one time, when my friend came over. I even baked scones to have with our tea!

That is absolutely adorable. I love scones, but tried to make them once and they were awful. Weighed about 50lbs each

You could have painted them up "real purdy" and used them as doorstops! ;D

I use a scone mix instead of trying to make them homemade anymore. My epic bakery fail is Irish Soda Bread. The only recipe I ever used that made it taste good was a low fat recipe. All the traditional recipes turn out terrible. Too bad, too, because I adore soda bread. I wish I liked to cook better. I am a decent cook, but the process just doesn't appeal to me. I have so much pain in my foot from my chronic tendonitis that it kills me to stand in the kitchen for hours even when I'm on an anti-fatigue mat, and I'm pretty short (5'2" and shrinking) so conventional-height counters make it more difficult for me to stir and chop comfortably. My only comfort is the glass of wine within reach. Maybe if I had a nice stool or something I would enjoy it more, but I'd sure rather be reading than cooking almost any day.

I'm sorry I never saw this post to reply, Shabby. How awful the tendinitis in your foot must be! I don't know if you're interested in homeopathic remedies, but I've had great luck with them, particularly when I had Shingles. Anyway, if you have interest, there are some worthwhile ideas here for tendinitis - the last two, in particular, "Rhus" and "Rhuta" are recommended by Dr. Andrew Weil and are both sold over the counter. www.livestrong.com/article/144351-homeopathic-remedies-tendinitis/Also, I think it might be a great help to get a cute little stool and decorate it to match your kitchen. We all need to get off our feet once in a while!

So now it does! NW Ohio.....this weekend our weather turned quite chilly. Friday/Saturday it rained. Sunday sunny/breezy in the upper 50's. This week is supposed to be in the 40's mostly. I am not looking forward to winter. Dave put everything away on the patio and cleared the potted flowers out. Makes me sad. I don;t want winter anymore. Saturday I went to a Chili cook off complete with about 10 different chilis, a band, campfire, and this year no cops. ;D It was my mom's neighborhood. She is so lucky to have such great neighbors.
