On Saturday I purchased this white ceramic rooster lamp at my local thrift shop for $2! ;D It had the metal framework for a lampshade, but I didn't have the time/energy to try to craft one, so I found this flowered one in my cellar and it'll do, for now. The reason I have it up so high is that I care for my 17 month old granddaughter every day and this is kind of tempting. So I will use one of those wireless remote light switches to turn the lamp on and off. Attachments:

That's a great lamp, and it looks fine with that shade. What a perfect find! And I see you were successful getting the picture to post. Maybe our problem is fixed!

Tnx, Shabby. I did want to also post some photos of an armoire that I bought for $8. (Yes, EIGHT dollars!) But I guess that's my fault because I got an error message saying the pics are too big. I'll have to see what I can do to fix that on the weekend (I am NOT good with technology!)

If you use Microsoft Office, you can usually open up the picture in Microsoft Office Picture Manager, click on Edit, and click on Compress Photos. Then you just select whether you want to compress for documents, e-mail, or web pages, and save the smaller version of the picture. If you have Microsoft Word, Powerpoint, etc., then you probably already have the full suite of programs, which includes Picture Manager. I know there are other ways to manage picture size, but this is the easiest way I've found with the programs that are on my computer.
