I thought I'd upload a couple of pictures. I don't think I've posted them yet. One is of a jar I made after seeing a similar project on the Yvestown Blog. Another is of my cat's new "garden" in the garage, where I've moved her litter box. I'm turning the garage into my crafts room/workshop so wanted something that made the litter box a little less ugly. Next week I'm getting my new garage door screen installed so I can have the garage door open for air and light but still keep the bugs and neighbor kids out. I'll take pictures when it's done. My neighbors have a 1 door 2 car garage and they had a screen system put in, I loved it. Cute ideas.

Oh my love, love, love the litterbox garden. That is one lucky kitty. The jar is adorable. I am intrigued by the screen. I would love to have one. Will have to look it up

That garden so adorable! I hope your lucky kitty appreciates it! And the jar is so cute. I'd like to do a set like that for my bathroom. What kind of paint did you use on the jar lid?

Thanks! The cat shows her appreciation by flinging litter all over the place, but at least she's using the box. It's much easier for me to remember to clean it out when it's on the way to the car in the morning. It was fun to put the little fence together for her. I guess it just goes to show that everything looks better in a frame! For the jars I used spay paint for metal and plastic. I think I used a Rustoleum brand. Shabbychick

The Lifestyle Screens screen door is up in my garage, and I love it! It's like having a screened porch (except for having to sit with the garbage can and recycle bin in sight). The only down side to this is that because the track sits under the track for the garage door, there's less clearance for the screen door when you lower it, so it hits anything that projects very far into the room on the end. I've had to rearrange the garbage and recycle bins a bit to accommodate for that. But in terms of the screen itself, it's awesome. I can sit in there and see out, but nobody can see in, and it looks really nice from the outside. It was expensive but worth every penny. I can't have an actual porch here, and I can never sit outside without being surrounded by bugs and children, neither of which I like. This lets me look out at my front garden and lets in light and air when I'm working on something in the garage, and the cat can come in here and look out at the world without escaping. It's great. That is SO nice! I don't think I've ever seen them before. If I had a garage I would love to have one. What a great way to use the space. I know you will enjoy having it!

What a clever idea. I showed hubs and he would love one. Going to check out the prices in our area.

I'd be interested to learn what they're going for in other places. I paid $730 for the screen itself with the privacy screening and a little lock, and I paid another $826 for the installation for a single car garage (including taxes). It might be less expensive in places where there is more than one qualified installer competing for your business. The bottom of the door screen is easy for animals to push out since it's not secured (otherwise it wouldn't move to open the door) but I hear they do sell the screen with an optional barrier of some kind to keep animals from pushing through the bottom.

I got a couple estimates over the phone. We have a double garage and it was over double what you paid. That was on the type that is retractable and goes up into a holder, like a movie screen. They are definitely expensive, but very very clever and useful
